Retail Store Supervisor Job Description

Pier 66 Market & Liquor Store is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Store Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our sales floor, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assign sales workers to duties and ensure they have the necessary training and support to excel in their roles.
  • Hire and train new staff members, or arrange for their training, to ensure they meet our high standards.
  • Authorize payments by cheque and manage our store's finances effectively.
  • Order merchandise and manage our inventory levels to meet customer demand.
  • Establish work schedules and ensure our sales floor is always fully staffed.
  • Provide excellent customer service and resolve any issues that may arise, including customer complaints and supply shortages.
  • Organize and maintain our inventory, ensuring it is accurately stocked and easily accessible to customers.
  • Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of our sales staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a retail management role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
  • Fast-paced retail environment.
  • Standing for extended periods and frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
Personal Suitability:
  • Accurate and efficient in all tasks.
  • Client-focused and able to provide excellent customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others.
  • Organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
Experience:
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a retail management role.
  • Permanent position with 30-35 hours of work per week.
  • English is the primary language of communication.
