Staremployment is looking for a skilled and empathetic Speech-Language Specialist. In this position, you will evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment for individuals experiencing challenges with speech, language, voice, and fluency. You will engage with clients across various age groups, offering therapeutic interventions and strategies to enhance their communication abilities and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and diagnose disorders related to speech, language, communication, and swallowing.
- Create and execute tailored treatment plans that align with the specific needs and objectives of each patient.
- Deliver direct therapeutic services, which may include speech exercises, language activities, and techniques for swallowing.
- Track and document patient progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication strategies to foster ongoing improvement.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including healthcare professionals such as physicians, occupational therapists, and educators, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain precise and current patient records in accordance with health regulations and standards.
- Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in speech-language pathology to guarantee the delivery of high-quality care.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Active registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
- Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
- Experience with a diverse range of populations and various speech and language disorders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with clients and their families.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with relevant therapeutic techniques, tools, and technologies.
