Job Summary

The York Region District School Board is seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in supporting students with communication difficulties, working closely with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to develop and implement effective communication strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consult with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to develop and implement individualized communication plans for students with communication difficulties.
  • Provide assessment and intervention services to students with communication disorders, including speech, language, and literacy skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to develop and implement classroom-based communication strategies and interventions.
  • Provide professional development and training to teachers and other support staff on communication strategies and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies and organizations to access resources and support for students with communication difficulties.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with communication difficulties.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, administrators, and other support staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
