Job Title: Grocery Clerk

Mercato Fresh is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Grocery Clerk to join our team. As a key member of our store staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and ensuring accurate inventory management.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their shopping needs, answering questions, and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment by restocking shelves, facing merchandise, and keeping the sales floor tidy.
  • Accurately manage inventory by counting, weighing, and sorting products, as well as maintaining computerized stock inventory.
  • Process transactions efficiently and accurately, handling cash, credit card payments, and other forms of payment.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve sales goals, promote products, and maintain a positive store atmosphere.
  • Participate in visual merchandising and display of products to create an attractive and engaging store environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the overall success of the store.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and weekends.
