Job Summary:

Laprairie is seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Service Truck Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our mobile and off-road fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, service, and maintain a diverse fleet of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Diagnose and repair complex issues with engines, steering systems, braking systems, drive trains, vehicle suspensions, electrical systems, and air-conditioning systems.
  • Utilize computerized testing equipment to identify faults and implement effective repairs.
  • Adjust and replace faulty parts, and perform major repair work when necessary, including welding and cutting.
  • Clean, lubricate, and conduct routine services on heavy-duty and automotive vehicles.
  • Collaborate with other Mechanics and Supervisors to ensure seamless operations.
  • Prepare and submit accurate reports (daily, weekly, etc.) to track maintenance activities.
  • Contribute to the compliance of our ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance System.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Licensed Journeyman or Red Seal as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic.
  • Must have a Class 5 driver's license at minimum - Class 3 is preferred, with a clean drivers abstract.
  • CVIP license.
  • Proven work experience with diesel or heavy equipment.
  • Strong understanding of computer testing technologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic & electrical systems, and construction equipment.
  • Welding and cutting abilities.
  • Ability to lift heavy machinery.
  • Ability to work after-hours if required.
  • Effective communication skills – verbal and written.
