**Job Summary**

Brandt is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in the Edmonton Construction & Forestry branch. This role is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry-based equipment and attachments.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the working condition of heavy-duty equipment, diagnose issues, assemble/disassemble, order parts, and perform repairs efficiently and effectively.
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Utilize related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems to perform tasks.
  • Accurately document machine information, actions taken, and time taken on work orders.
  • Continuously assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
  • Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
  • Locate parts using parts catalogues and order parts from parts personnel.
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.

Required Skills

  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Meet physical demands, including climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, and fine motor control.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.

Required Experience

  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred.
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade is preferred.
  • Commitment to customer service and service excellence.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Meet physical demands, including climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, and fine motor control.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
