We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at West Fraser. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient repair and maintenance of industrial equipment, including log loaders, wheel loaders, forklifts, and other mobile equipment used in the manufacture of veneer.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of tasks related to the technical skills and knowledge of a Heavy Duty Mechanic, ensuring the quality and standards of service to safety and production are maintained.
- Repair and maintain industrial equipment, including log loaders, wheel loaders, forklifts, and other mobile equipment used in the manufacture of veneer.
- Continually ensure the quality and standards of service to safety and production are maintained.
- A valid Inter-Provincial or Provincial Journeyperson mechanic certification.
- Ability to read manuals and schematics.
- Knowledge of hydraulics.
- Commitment to working safely and creating a safe work place.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Organizational and planning skills.
- Flexible schedule to work day, evening and weekend shifts.
- Experience working in a fleet shop.
- Strong electrical background.
- Welding skills.
- The hourly pay range for this position is $50.74/hr.
