About the Role

The Business Continuity Advisor is a key member of the Corporate Operations team at the BC Liquor Distribution Branch. This role is responsible for promoting, planning, developing, implementing, testing, and monitoring business continuity plans to ensure that critical services and processes continue to function or are returned to service as quickly as possible in the event of a business interruption.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement business continuity plans to ensure the continuity of critical services and processes
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential business disruptions
  • Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of business disruptions
  • Provide training and awareness programs to employees on business continuity planning and emergency management
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to business continuity planning
Requirements
  • Degree, diploma, or certificate in emergency management, risk management, or a related field
  • 2 years of recent, related experience in business continuity planning, emergency management, or a related field
  • Experience with facilitating groups to consensus, developing and delivering adult training, and designing and delivering emergency management exercises
  • Experience in the preparation of business case analyses and request for proposal/request for information (RFPs/RFIs)
