Law Enforcement Officer

The CN Constable is responsible for serving as the primary customer contact for all policing and security needs. This role requires responding to emergency calls and working irregular schedules, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure a 24/7 operation.
Key Responsibilities- Develop strategic partnerships with municipal, provincial, and federal officials, major industries, and local businesses that impact CN.
- Identify high-risk locations and develop action plans to secure and prevent losses.
- Investigate and prosecute all criminal incidents and actively enforce and promote federal and provincial laws related to railway safety.
- Participate in regular public speaking engagements.
- Manage targeted traffic and trespass enforcement.
- Conduct Operation Lifesaver presentations.
This role requires frequent travel over a large geographical area. Preference will be given to qualified applicants residing within the geographical area. The successful candidate must be available to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Requirements- Accredited law enforcement program or equivalent.
- Certified or eligible to certify in First Aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
- Valid driver's license.
- Reside within 50 km of the posting.
- Demonstrate good teamwork and maintain positive interactions with other departments and local law enforcement agencies.
- Possess sound judgment, professionalism, autonomy, and initiative.
- Make informed and timely decisions.
- Fluently bilingual in both written and verbal communication (English and French).
The successful candidate will receive on-the-job training with a Coach Officer. Those without a certificate from an accredited police college will be required to complete a 3-month training program at the Ontario Police College.
