Winter Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Winter Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Colas. As a Winter Maintenance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our highway maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform road maintenance activities on provincial highways, including snow and ice control, salting, and sanding.
- Respond to emergency situations such as spills and accidents during inclement weather.
- Assist in implementing an emergency plan and provide traffic control at accident scenes as per the contract requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including fuel reports, safety reports, and hours of service.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
- Make snow and ice control decisions during winter and initiate equipment and operator call outs.
- Inspect patrols and create deficient lists for the Foreperson.
- Respond to public complaints and operate a variety of equipment.
- DZ license.
- Experience in snow and ice control, along with knowledge of OTM Book 7.
- Knowledge of highway maintenance.
- Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions.
- Ability to work assigned shifts, and extended hours (evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays) as winter events require.
