Job Title: Mental Health Nurse

Humber River Health is seeking a skilled Mental Health Nurse to join our dynamic team. As a Mental Health Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our Adult Inpatient Psychiatric Unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and treat mental health patients in the acute phase of their illness.
  • Use the primary care nursing model effectively.
  • Perform mental status examinations and crisis interventions.
  • Take on resource and team leader responsibilities.
  • Provide individual and group counseling, as well as supportive interventions and therapeutic group activities.

Requirements:

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current BCLS/CPR certification.
  • BScN or a degree in health sciences preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years recent mental health nursing experience.
  • Formal CPI certification preferred.
  • Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing required or willingness to obtain when eligible.
