Job Title: Mental Health Nurse
Humber River Health is seeking a skilled Mental Health Nurse to join our dynamic team. As a Mental Health Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our Adult Inpatient Psychiatric Unit.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and treat mental health patients in the acute phase of their illness.
- Use the primary care nursing model effectively.
- Perform mental status examinations and crisis interventions.
- Take on resource and team leader responsibilities.
- Provide individual and group counseling, as well as supportive interventions and therapeutic group activities.
Requirements:
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current BCLS/CPR certification.
- BScN or a degree in health sciences preferred.
- Minimum 2 years recent mental health nursing experience.
- Formal CPI certification preferred.
- Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing required or willingness to obtain when eligible.
