Humber River Health, a leading healthcare provider in North West Toronto, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Adult Inpatient Psychiatric Unit within the Mental Health and Addictions Program.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work all day/evening/nights shifts, subject to change based on unit needs.

You will be responsible for assessing and treating mental health patients in the acute phase of their illness, using the primary care nursing model to provide effective care.

Your duties will include:

  • Assessing patients' mental status and developing individualized care plans
  • Providing counseling and supportive interventions to patients and their families
  • Leading therapeutic groups and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes

You will also be required to maintain accurate records, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • BCLS/CPR certification and BScN or degree in health sciences preferred
  • Minimum 2 years recent mental health nursing experience, with formal CPI certification preferred
  • Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing required or willingness to obtain when eligible
