Troy Life & Fire Safety is seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Design Specialist to join our team. As an Intermediate Fire Protection Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, listing, and project coordinating Fire Protection Systems.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Project Coordination: Design and list Fire Protection Systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA standards and local ordinances.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with a team of fire protection designers, reporting directly to the design team leader.
- Communication and Liaison: Liaise between management, estimating, design, fabrication, installation, and project management teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- 3D Modeling and Design: Work within Autodesk Revit to recreate fire protection design for 3D modeling, developing finished building models and drawings from general conceptual information and design notes.
- Clash Detection and Resolution: Coordinate with BIM construction teams and work within 3D models to create efficient project design and verify clash reports.
- Best Practices and Compliance: Assist in continuing and maintaining company best practices in coordination with national fire protection design team, ensuring all deliverables meet NFPA standards and local ordinances.
- Post-secondary education in Fire Protection Engineering & Technology or equivalent.
- 3-5 years experience in the field of fire protection design, preferably with a Fire Protection Contractor.
- NICET certification and/or ability to become certified.
- Working expertise of 3D modeling design software (e.g. Revit).
- Autodesk AutoCAD; AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, and Adobe experience is an asset.
Pay Range: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 annually.
