Job Summary:

We are seeking a Fire Protection Systems Designer to join our team at Troy Life & Fire Safety. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing, listing, and project coordinating fire protection systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and project coordinate fire protection systems to meet NFPA standards and local ordinances.
  • Work with a team of fire protection designers, reporting directly to the design team leader.
  • Liaise between management, estimating, design, fabrication, installation, and project management teams.
  • Recreate fire protection designs for 3D modeling using Autodesk Revit.
  • Develop finished building models and drawings from general conceptual information and design notes.
  • Coordinate with BIM construction teams and work within 3D models to create efficient project designs and verify clash reports.
  • Assist in maintaining company best practices in coordination with national fire protection design teams.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Fire Protection Engineering & Technology or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years experience in the field of fire protection design, preferably with a Fire Protection Contractor.
  • NICET certification and/or the ability to become certified.
  • Working expertise of 3D modeling design software, such as Revit.
  • Autodesk AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, and Adobe experience is an asset.
