Michif Child and Family Services (MCFS) is a mandated child and family services agency with a commitment to providing culturally appropriate community-based child protection and support services for Metis and Inuit people in Manitoba.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide basic housekeeping duties, including cooking and meal preparation, to support the well-being of children and families.
- Monitor and report on property maintenance and repairs.
- Assist with daily routines and procedures, including wake-up calls and bedtime routines.
- Supervise and monitor television, video, and computer use, ensuring age-appropriate content.
- Administer medication as directed by medical professionals.
- Document daily activities, including incident reports, menu planning, and daily logs.
- Provide transportation and support for family visits and scheduled appointments.
- Determine and document disciplinary actions for youth, communicating with the team on the reason and duration of discipline.
- CPR and Emergency First Aid certification.
- Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid Manitoba class 5F driver's license.
- Demonstrated understanding of Metis culture and communities.
- Grade 12 diploma an asset.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training an asset.
- Ability to cook and maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Strong interpersonal, administrative, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
