Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Surface Mining Operations Manager to join our team at the Ekati Mine site. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient production of our surface mining operations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop a high-performing team of mining professionals
- Supervise the performance of personnel working on the Surface Mining team
- Implement effective safety, health, and environment management practices
- Investigate accidents and incidents, and implement corrective actions
- Meet budgeted mining targets and manage costs
- Collaborate with Technical Services and Mobile Maintenance to execute the mining plan and maintenance schedule
- Develop and implement departmental improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with company policies and standard operating procedures
- Minimum 5 years of open pit mining experience
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
- Open pit shift boss certification
- Surface mine rescue certification
- Valid first-aid ticket
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
