Join Our Team as a Data Governance Specialist

Société Financière Manuvie is a leading financial services provider that aims to facilitate decision-making for our clients and colleagues worldwide. We are committed to helping them live better lives.

Our Global Data Governance team is expanding its mandate, and we are seeking an experienced professional to help shape the growing function and drive adoption of our data governance and data quality framework, standard methodologies, and supporting technologies across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the deployment of data governance agenda globally to accelerate trust and utilization of data
  • Collaborate to continuously refine global data quality framework; drive adoption of the framework by developing playbooks, accelerators, and training the appropriate partners in data quality concepts
  • Support leaders in data governance roles across the organization to improve their data literacy and familiarity with the data governance and data quality practices
  • Engage with partners at various levels of the organization to guide them in identification of critical data elements and setting-up metrics linking data quality to business value
  • Conduct hands-on data analysis to address high-priority data quality issues from issue identification through root cause analysis to issue resolution
  • Implement global data governance metrics and oversight mechanisms to ensure delivery of target outcomes through the Data Governance program
  • In partnership with Technology teams, support adoption of the data quality technology in the Azure Cloud environment as well as for on-prem applications
  • Serve as a liaison between the Global Data Governance team and our Segment Data offices, Data Owners, and Control Partners (Information Risk Management, Compliance, Privacy, Legal) to ensure that data quality requirements are defined, captured, and communicated
  • Apply creative thinking and contribute to innovation in the data governance practices at Société Financière Manuvie; monitor new and existing data governance technologies and bring meaningful advancements to the leaders' attention

You will work with our technology and business partners to unlock the value of data through improved accuracy and trust. This will help Société Financière Manuvie achieve its strategic ambition of becoming a digital customer leader, enabling efficiency and speed in generating insights with data.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of data governance and data management related experience in a large multinational organization
  • A college/university degree in computer science, engineering, or another technology or quantitative field
  • Mastery of data governance concepts and technologies. Hands-on experience using one or more leading data quality software and data visualization products at scale
  • Familiarity with foundational data architecture concepts and Cloud technology is a plus
  • Practical experience with data wrangling, analytics, dashboard design
