Job Overview

NEXUS Community Support Society is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in Kamloops. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with diverse abilities to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement personalized support plans to meet the unique needs and goals of individuals.
  • Facilitate community inclusion and participation in various settings, promoting social connections and a sense of belonging.
  • Collaborate with individuals, their support networks, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support and care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of individual progress, successes, and areas for improvement.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Must be 19 years of age or older.
  • Must hold a valid class 5 (or better) driver's license – driver's abstract required.
  • Related experience working with adults with diverse abilities is considered an asset.
  • Basic computer skills and physical ability to carry out duties as required.
  • First Aid (Level 1).
  • Criminal record check (will be performed by NEXUS upon hire).
