About the Role

The Manager, Experiential Learning is a key position within the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University. This role is responsible for leading the development and implementation of experiential learning initiatives that enhance the undergraduate student experience.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of experiential learning principles and practices, particularly as they apply to business education within a post-secondary environment. They will be an exceptional communicator with strong analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

The Manager will work closely with faculty and staff to create engaging learning experiences that enable students to reflect on and deepen their understanding of essential business skills and competencies. They will also be responsible for managing the Experiential Education Team, providing strategic direction, training, and support.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement experiential education strategies that align with the Beedie School of Business’ vision and goals.
  • Manage and provide strategic direction to the Experiential Education Team.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to create engaging learning experiences.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to experiential education initiatives.
  • Manage the experiential education budget and monitor its effectiveness.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, or a related field, and five years of related experience in areas such as program/project development and management, experiential education programming, strategic planning initiatives in a post-secondary environment, financial administration, staff supervision, event planning, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

They will also possess exceptional public speaking and communication skills, with the ability to influence key stakeholders through persuasive and impactful interactions.
