Field Service Technician

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team at TRUMPF INC. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing, demonstrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting TRUMPF CNC machines, laser machines, and connected automation and storage systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain TRUMPF equipment with high quality.
  • Demonstrate and train customers in the use and repair of TRUMPF machines.
  • Travel up to 100% to regional, national, and international locations.
  • Complete basic retrofits, software installations, and customer training.
  • Troubleshoot and remedy complex issues.
  • Work independently to resolve technical problems and maintain good relationships with customers.
  • Use relevant electrical measuring tools efficiently for troubleshooting.
  • Submit required weekly TRUMPF reports in a complete and organized manner.
  • Participate in training lasting approximately 6 months with ongoing training on existing and new products each year.
  • Must be able to lift 70 pounds without aid.

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be located or able to relocate within 45 minutes of a major international airport.
  • 100% travel required, both internationally and domestically.
  • Perform extensive travel as needed, including but not limited to Monday through Friday.
  • Some weekend work as needed.

Experience/Education:

  • Two-years technical school degree in engineering principles or a suitable combination of education and work experience.
  • 2 or more years of experience in technical service, field service, repair, or customer service required.
  • Strong electrical and computer systems experience and high-level diagnostic skills.
  • Previous experience with robotics, lasers, automation systems, or mechatronics.
  • Previous experience with hand tools and measurement tools.
  • Must have strong problem-solving and excellent organization skills.
