Job Title: FTP Support Worker

Pathways to Independence is seeking two (2) Full Time Permanent Support Workers to provide assisted living support for adults with a developmental disability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support adults with homemaking, personal care, community, and personal development skills in accordance with the person's Quality of Life Plan (QLP).
  • Implement established strategies under the general direction of the Manager and Counsellor.
  • Ensure that the person's services and supports promote their rights, choices, self-determination, independence, and builds personal and community living skills.

Requirements:

  • Secondary School graduation and minimum one-year post-secondary certificate in Human or Health Services.
  • Continuing education in developmental disabilities an asset.
  • Current First Aid and CPR.
  • Valid G class driver's license.
  • Proof of full COVID vaccination.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate a person-centered philosophy and commitment to agency vision, mission, and guiding principles.
  • Experience working with adults with a developmental disability in a community-based, group living, or independent living environment.
  • Provide effective services and supports to supported persons.
  • Manage and maintain accurate client information and documentation.
  • Participate in and ensure a positive team environment.

Working Conditions:

Shifts are typically 12 hours long and include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. May work with clients who have aggressive behavior.
