Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor project HSE Plans, environmental plans, and regulatory requirements to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Develop and conduct project-specific HSE training to enhance team knowledge and skills.
  • Provide project teams with essential HSE information, trends, and action plans to mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement hazard identification tools and emergency response plans.
  • Conduct regular HSE inspections and verify corrective actions to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Support project teams in implementing security requirements and monitoring trade contractor safety compliance.
  • Verify equipment and tool inspections are conducted and documented as per requirements.
  • Notify stakeholders of incidents and support investigations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with project teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Working towards a Bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Working towards a safety designation.
  • 3 years of experience in a related industry.
  • Knowledge of applicable OH&S, environmental legislation, and HSE processes.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to coach and mentor others.
  • Ability to provide and apply conflict resolution techniques with craft workers.
  • Ability to develop, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Knowledge of construction processes and terminology.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
  • Open to travel within the Atlantic provinces.
