Job Title: MHSU Clinician

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate MHSU Clinician to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive mental health and substance use services to individuals and families in our community.

About the Role:

This is a casual opportunity for an MHSU Clinician with a Master's degree. The successful applicant will be based in Hope, Agassiz, or Harrison Hot Springs and will work closely with our team to provide assessment, treatment, and support services to clients with mental health and substance use issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement recovery-oriented treatment plans in collaboration with clients and their natural supports.
  2. Provide individual, group, and family support using a variety of interviewing, supportive counselling, and assessment methods.
  3. Support the intake process and assess client needs by gathering client information and history.
  4. Facilitate client utilization of appropriate community services and rehabilitative programs.
  5. Advocate on behalf of clients and provide information about appeal processes.
  6. Make necessary arrangements for clients to be admitted to hospital when required.
  7. Provide client care linkages between community mental health and substance use services and acute care facilities.
  8. Provide individual and group sessions, including psycho-education or skill development groups.
  9. Maintain client records and provide follow-up care and services as required.
  10. Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities.
  11. Participate in ongoing education to maintain current and relevant practice.
  12. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Clinical Counselling, or a related health discipline. Two years of recent experience working with clients and families with mental health and substance use issues is required. Eligibility for registration or membership with a professional association or regulatory body is also required.

Skills and Abilities:

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and members of the interdisciplinary team. They will also have the ability to set priorities, organize work, and exercise sound judgment, both clinically and non-clinically.
