Job Summary

Fraser Health Authority seeks a skilled Mental Health Clinician to join our team of healthcare professionals. As a Mental Health Clinician, you will provide high-quality care to patients with mental health and substance use disorders, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, or a related field, and experience working with clients and families affected by mental illness and substance use disorders. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and provide individual and group therapy sessions.
  2. Collaborate with clients, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care and promote recovery.
  3. Develop and maintain relationships with community resources and services to support clients' needs.
  4. Provide education and support to clients and families on mental health and substance use issues, as well as strategies for recovery and relapse prevention.
  5. Maintain accurate and detailed client records, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  6. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of policies, procedures, and protocols to enhance client-centered care.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Master's degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience working with clients and families affected by mental illness and substance use disorders.
  • Registration with a relevant professional association.
  • Valid Class V British Columbia driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for business purposes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
