About North Peace Veterinary Clinic Ltd.
We are a reputable veterinary clinic seeking an experienced and dedicated Animal Health Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing top-notch care to our furry patients and their owners.
Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
Job Description:
The successful candidate will have a strong background in veterinary medicine, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will work closely with our veterinarians, animal health technologists, and other support staff to provide exceptional patient care and customer service.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose and treat medical conditions in animals through physical examinations and laboratory tests
Prescribe medication, set bones, dress wounds, and perform surgery as needed
Vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases
Provide advice on animal care, behavior, breeding, and nutrition
Perform routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations
Supervise animal health technologists and animal care workers
Requirements:
Degree in veterinary medicine (DVM) or related field
Certification by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association
Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
Valid driver's license
Ability to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)

Work Environment:
Our clinic is a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and good communication skills. You must be able to stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, and kneel as needed. A valid driver's license is required for occasional travel between clinics or for emergency situations.
