Job Summary

Hundseth Power Line Construction (HPL) is seeking a skilled Power Line Technician to join our team. As a Power Line Technician, you will be responsible for installing, constructing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining overhead and underground distribution, transmission lines, switching stations, substations, communication networks, streetlight facilities, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools and equipment, including backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, directional bore machines, digger derrick trucks, all-terrain track machines, crawler dozers, bobcats, forklifts, and trackhoes.
  • Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report any violations to the foreman.
  • Perform a range of tasks, including installation, construction, maintenance, and repair of power lines and associated equipment.
  • Work at heights and in confined spaces, and be able to lift heavy tools and equipment over 50 pounds.
  • Travel extensively across Saskatchewan and work in a variety of weather conditions.
Requirements
  • A valid Journeyman or Apprentice Power Line Technician Trade card from the Saskatchewan Trades & Apprenticeship Commission or a Canadian Interprovincial Red seal certification.
  • A valid Class 1A or Class 5 license with a clear driving abstract, with a Class 1A preferred.
  • Previous experience operating the required equipment and tools, which would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to travel extensively and work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift heavy tools and equipment over 50 pounds.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • This position is considered a safety-sensitive position, and all new hires will be required to complete a pre-employment/pre-access medical test, including a drug and alcohol screening, as well as a hearing test.
