Job Summary:

Hundseth Power Line Construction (HPL) is seeking a skilled Power Line Technician to join our team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for installing, constructing, troubleshooting, and maintaining overhead and underground distribution, transmission lines, switching stations, substations, communication networks, streetlight facilities, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools and equipment, including backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, directional bore machines, digger derrick trucks, all-terrain track machines, crawler dozers, bobcats, forklifts, and trackhoes.
  • Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report any violations to the foreman.
  • Perform a range of tasks, including installation, construction, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintenance of power lines and related infrastructure.
  • Travel extensively across Saskatchewan to complete projects.
  • Lift heavy tools and equipment weighing over 50 pounds.
  • Hold a valid Journeyman or Apprentice Power Line Technician Trade card from the Saskatchewan Trades & Apprenticeship Commission or a Canadian Interprovincial Red seal certification.
  • Possess a valid Class 1A or Class 5 license with a clear driving abstract, with a preference for a Class 1A license.
  • Previous experience operating specialized equipment is considered an asset.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment/pre-access medical test, including a drug and alcohol screening, and hearing test.
