Job Overview

At CEP Forensic Inc., we are seeking an experienced Building Code Consultant to join our team in Ottawa. As a critical member of our engineering firm, this individual will be responsible for providing high-quality services to clients from private and public sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full cycle projects by providing expert-level knowledge of Ontario Building Code (Part 3), National Building Code (NBC), and Fire Codes (NFC & NFPA).
  • Lead a team of associates to ensure timely completion of projects, manage project staffing, budget, profitability, and delivery.
  • Represent the company in all interactions with clients, including site visits and meetings with Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Conduct peer review of projects being executed for various clients, identify and actively pursue business opportunities, and contribute to marketing efforts as required.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in Building Code Engineering/Consulting for medium to large size residential, commercial, institutional, and public projects.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Ontario Building Code (Part 3), National Building Code (NBC), and Fire Codes (NFC & NFPA).
  • Analytical, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to establish positive relationships with project team members and clients.
  • Able to obtain government security clearance and proficient with Microsoft Office.
