At Kal Tire, we are seeking a highly skilled OTR Tire Technician to join our team at the Copper Mountain mine site in Princeton, British Columbia. As a key member of our Mining Tire Group, you will be responsible for providing exceptional tire service and repair to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform all aspects of tire shop work, including tire mounting, dismounting, and balancing.
  • Assist mine maintenance staff as required and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Conduct regular equipment checks and calibrations to ensure optimal performance.
  • Provide excellent customer service and promote best practices to our customers.
Operational/Technical Requirements:
  • Dismount and mount tires for various vehicles in the mining industry.
  • Ensure safe and proper tire mounting and balancing procedures.
  • Perform equipment checks and calibrations to maintain optimal performance.
  • Fit and remove wheels from any type of vehicle.
  • Mount and strip any type of tire and assemble rims.
  • Balance any type of tire and rim assembly.
  • Perform repairs to tires and tubes.
  • Conduct inspections and determine the suitability of wheel components for continued service.
  • Operate heavy-duty tire servicing equipment and tools.
Health, Safety, and Environment:
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Report hazards, unsafe work conditions, and equipment to your supervisor.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings and inspections to promote a safe work environment.
Requirements:
  • At least two years of related experience as a tire technician.
  • OTR service training and certifications desired.
  • Experience operating and maintaining tire manipulators, forklifts, and service trucks.
  • Ability to physically perform the duties of an OTR Tire Technician safely.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to comply with relevant insurance policies.
