Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled OTR Tire Technician to join our team at the Copper Mountain mine site in Princeton, British Columbia. As a key member of our Mining Tire Group, you will be responsible for all aspects of tire and related service and repair for mining tires, adhering to Kal Tire's work and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service Excellence: Provide exceptional service to our customers, ensuring timely and efficient tire repairs and maintenance.
  • Tire Shop Operations: Learn and perform all aspects of tire shop work related to the customer sites, including tire mounting, dismounting, and balancing.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Tire Inspection and Maintenance: Develop and implement tire inspection and maintenance programs to ensure optimal tire performance and safety.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with mine maintenance staff to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.

Operational / Technical

  • Dismount and Mount Tires: Safely dismount and mount tires for various vehicles, ensuring proper load requirements are met.
  • Equipment Checks: Perform regular equipment checks and calibrations to ensure optimal performance.
  • Wheel and Tire Assembly: Fit and remove wheels from any type of vehicle, and assemble rims and tires.
  • Tire Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs to tires and tubes, and conduct maintenance checks to ensure all work is done according to Kal Tire work and safety standards.

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and requirements, and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Hygiene Standards: Maintain high hygiene standards in the facility, and report any hazards or unsafe work conditions to your Supervisor/lead hand.
  • Incident Reporting: Report all incidents and injuries according to procedures, and assist in resolving safety issues identified by the site safety representative.

Requirements

  • Education: Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least two years of related experience, with direct experience as a tire technician preferred.
  • Certifications: OTR service training and certifications desired.
  • Skills: Able to physically perform the duties of an OTR Tire Technician safely, and possess good communication and literacy skills.

Compensation

Competitive wages, starting at $31.65-43.56/hour, with opportunities for career advancement and wage increases along the way.
