About the Role

Svante is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Engineer to lead the development, design, commissioning, testing, and optimization of carbon capture gas processing plants for various industrial applications.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for all project-related basic process engineering deliverables, including block flow and process flow diagrams, heat and material balances, P&ID, utility flow diagrams, and major equipment specifications and sizing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, design, commission, test, and optimize carbon capture gas processing plants for various industrial applications.
  • Support early engagements and technical discussions with potential customers as part of the Business Development/Sales Team support.
  • Prepare basis of Design document, including design standards, site conditions, available utilities, emission and waste streams limitations, and overall performance requirements for the carbon capture system.
  • Design greenfield gas processing plants, monitor modifications and upgrades, and troubleshoot existing process designs.
  • Apply the principles of mass, momentum, and heat transfer to process and equipment design, including conceptual, scheme, and detail design.
  • Perform process hazard and operability analysis (HAZOP) and assess the safety and environmental impact of the plant.
  • Perform techno-economic analysis (TEA) and evaluate the capital and operational cost of projects during the pre-construction phase.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in development, design, and operations of chemical processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and process simulation software (Hysys and Aspen).
  • Strong technical background with process knowledge of gas processing and steam generation systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to make sound recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with solvent-based CO2 capture plants using Selective Chemical Absorption Solvents and Thermal Kinetic Optimization process or relevant experience in gas separation processing or gas power plants.
  • Strong technical background with process knowledge of CO2 capture technologies.
