At ALBERTA LTD., we are seeking a skilled Insurance Underwriter to join our team. As a key member of our commercial underwriting team, you will be responsible for reviewing individual and group applications for insurance, evaluating new and renewal applications to determine insurance risks, insurance premiums, extent of coverage and other conditions, and approving the sale of insurance policies.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the insurance industry, or equivalent experience. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing individual and group applications for insurance
  • Evaluating new and renewal applications to determine insurance risks, insurance premiums, extent of coverage and other conditions
  • Approving the sale of insurance policies
  • Ensuring compliance with government regulations
  • Providing underwriting advice
  • Answering inquiries from clients and other company personnel
  • Preparing underwriting reports
