Geotechnical Engineering Internship Opportunity

AECOM is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Intern to support the soil laboratory testing and prepare reports of laboratory test results.

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Support the soil laboratory testing (Atterberg limits, Sieve Hydrometer, etc.).
  • Prepare reports of laboratory test results.
  • Perform work in accordance with projected budget and schedule under supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with others within the team and with internal and external clients.
  • Travel for site investigations or site inspections.
  • Learn and operate a nuclear field densometer.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university or college program in Civil or Geological Engineering with emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering and must have completed at least 1 year of study.
  • Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelor's degree and plan to continue with the master's degree are eligible to apply for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coop terms of construction administration, or related experience within the civil, geological or geotechnical engineering field.
  • Willing and interested in working overtime and weekends.
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license.
  • Good written communication, time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills; conduct yourself with integrity, work within multi-disciplined teams, deal with complex issues, and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Have a high level of initiative and enthusiasm for getting things done.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite; excellent knowledge of Excel and Word.
