Chebucto Links Senior Support Association Executive Director

Chebucto Links is a not-for-profit registered charitable organization that enhances the quality of life of community dwelling seniors in Nova Scotia through community-based and virtual programs and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the organization's vision and mission, reporting directly to a volunteer Board of Directors.
  • Oversee operational and financial management, communications, fundraising, and community development.
  • Hire, train, evaluate, and supervise staff as outlined in Chebucto Links' personnel policies.
  • Promote the organization's work, programs, and services to the community and funders, maintaining a strong social media presence.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with other professional and social service organizations, funding bodies, and community partners.
  • Provide policy recommendations to the Board of Directors and advocate for senior issues and benefits.
  • Represent the organization at various community meetings and activities, ensuring administrative duties are completed to ensure effective operation.
Requirements
  • A university degree or diploma in a relevant field.
  • Strong management skills in leading and managing others, financial management, strategic planning, human resources, and information management.
  • Demonstrated interest in working with older adults and ability to build and nurture constructive relationships with government, donors, funding partners, and the community.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office products and a working knowledge of digital/social media marketing.
  • Experience working directly with older adults and possessing a working knowledge of issues related to aging would be considered strong assets.
What We Offer
  • A full-time position based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with a typical work week of 35 hours from Monday-Friday.
