Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Vegetable Farm Labourer to join our team at Monette Farms Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the farm, including planting, cultivating, and harvesting vegetables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to size, shape, colour, and volume to fetch high prices in the market.
  • Hand harvest vegetables, ensuring quality and quantity meet our standards.
  • Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops, maintaining optimal growing conditions.
  • Weeding, fertilizing, and spraying crops to promote healthy growth.
  • Harvest crops at the right time, ensuring maximum yield and quality.
  • Load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, and farm produce, livestock, and poultry.
  • Examine products for quality and readiness for the market.
  • Perform general farm duties, including maintaining farm machinery, equipment, and buildings.
  • Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed.
  • Load and unload vehicles using a forklift or dolly.
Requirements
  • Experience in vegetable farming or a related field is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labour in various weather conditions.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and procedures.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a rural area, with staff accommodation available. The work environment is physically demanding, and the candidate must be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work in various weather conditions.
