Bakery Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Bakery Assistant to join our team at Dawson City General Store Ltd. As a Bakery Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with the daily operations of our bakery department, including receiving and stocking inventory, preparing and packaging baked goods, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with receiving and stocking inventory, including baked goods, ingredients, and supplies
  • Prepare and package baked goods for sale, including decorating and frosting cakes and pastries
  • Provide excellent customer service, including answering questions and resolving issues
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the bakery area and surrounding areas
  • Assist with inventory management, including counting and reconciling inventory
Requirements:
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a retail or food service environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and stand for extended periods
Working Conditions:

This is a permanent, full-time position with a 35-40 hour workweek. The work environment is fast-paced and physically demanding, with frequent lifting, bending, and standing.
