Lead Process Equipment Designer

We are a specialized engineering company with international exposure and subject matter expertise in the design, fabrication and qualification of sterile, high purity and potent containment process equipment and plants.

Our team is growing, and we are looking for talented professionals to join us. As a 3D Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for developing models and producing general arrangement drawings of process equipment, modular process skids, interconnecting piping and facility layouts from P&IDs, specification sheets, preliminary concepts, sketches and other design inputs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop 3D models of process skids, associated piping and miscellaneous equipment
  • Generate general arrangement (GA) drawings
  • Develop process room layouts and facility plot plans
  • Effectively interpret and utilize related design documents and drawings prepared by others, from both internal and external resources
  • Assure compliance with approved design standards to generate quality design
  • Verify drawing accuracy on-site, as required
  • Accurately collect site measurements and related spatial information, as required
  • Participate in design review meetings

You will work closely with our Process Engineers to ensure that all designs meet our high standards. To succeed in this role, you will need strong skills in 3D CAD software, including sound design and drafting techniques, knowledge of layer management, XREF manipulation, etc. Familiarity with ASME BPE standards and building codes is also an asset.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Plant Design Suite or equivalent 3D modeling software
  • Proficiency with Navisworks Suite (Freedom, Simulate, Manage) or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of previous design and drafting experience, inclusive of responsibilities included in the above summary
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Design, Mechanical or Architectural Engineering/Technology
  • Strong written, verbal and communication skills

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience
