Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Rockridge Secondary. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our school facilities, as well as performing various cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks in and around the assigned facility, in accordance with established procedures.
  • Ensure the safety and security of the school during evening hours.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve cleaning and maintenance goals.
  • Operate cleaning equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Report any maintenance or repair issues to the Senior Site Custodian.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 graduation.
  • Building Service Worker Certificate.
  • Valid BC Driver's License.
  • Fire Safety Course.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical ability to perform the assigned duties.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification as Building Service Worker (Division I, III, IV) by Canadian Building Servicing Association.
  • Previous experience in the maintenance of commercial or school buildings.
  • Basic Computer Skills (email).
  • Building Service Management Course.
  • Training in building trades.
