About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team on a casual/on-call basis. As a Custodian, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine janitorial and custodial tasks, including cleaning, waxing hallways and stairs
  • Secure the school at night and ensure adequate heat and light
  • Respond to non-routine problems and emergencies, referring to a supervisor as needed
  • Assist students, staff, and the public as required
  • Maintain the recycling program
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of janitorial and custodial methods, materials, and equipment
  • Sufficient knowledge of facilities and systems to safely respond to emergencies
  • English fluency to understand and carry out instructions
  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and the public
  • Preferred: up to three months of related work experience in janitorial services and building maintenance operations
What We Offer

This is a casual/on-call, unionized position with a competitive hourly rate of $27.43, plus 14% in lieu of benefits. Hours of work are from 06:30-15:00 (day) or 15:00-23:30 (evening), with occasional weekend hours.
