Pacific Rim Asset Management Inc. is seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including calculating and preparing cheques for payroll, calculating fixed assets and depreciation, and maintaining general ledgers and financial statements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and bookkeeping, with experience using software such as QuickBooks. You will also have excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll
  • Calculate fixed assets and depreciation
  • Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
  • Post journal entries
  • Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports
  • Prepare tax returns
  • Prepare trial balance of books
  • Reconcile accounts

Requirements:

  • College/CEGEP education
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience
  • Strong background in accounting and bookkeeping
  • Experience using software such as QuickBooks
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
