Psychiatrist for Traumatic Stress Injury and Concurrent Program

Homewood Health is seeking a skilled Psychiatrist to join our team in Guelph, Ontario. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide clinical psychiatric care to patients with traumatic stress injury and concurrent disorders.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide clinical care, including diagnosis, treatment planning, and daily care for assigned patients
- Manage psychiatric disorders, concurrent substance use disorders, and provide medication management and psychotherapeutic interventions
- Supervise and manage clinical/patient care, including daily rounds and individual assessments
- Document patient care, including admission history, mental status, diagnostic impression, treatment plan, and discharge summary
- Collaborate with the program and admitting department for referrals and admissions
- Ensure best practice standards of clinical care are implemented and maintained
- Facilitate group psychotherapy modalities and provide clinical direction to program development
- Perform ECT treatment as required and participate in hospital committees/forums, medical staff meetings, and quality assurance activities
- Specialist certification in psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPS) or equivalent body acceptable to the RCPS (C) and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
- 3 years' physician experience in a similar role preferred
- Experience with diagnosis and management of concurrent substance use disorders is preferred
- Interest in working with complex and comorbid disorders and ongoing learning and teaching to enhance patient care
