Job Description:

The Senior Applications Operations Manager, Clinical Systems will be responsible for overseeing the operational management of clinical applications and systems across the organization. This includes supervising the team, maintaining software repositories, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the organization's repository of clinical applications and systems
  • Supervise and direct the Applications team in support of clinical operations
  • Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application-usage best practices
  • Support deployment of new applications, systems software, products, and enhancements
  • Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in testing new software programs and applications
  • Analyze documentation and technical specifications of new applications to determine functionality
  • Ensure compliance with functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications
  • Design, develop, and install application enhancements and upgrades
  • Coordinate feasibility studies for software and system products under consideration for purchase
  • Participate in negotiations related to contracts with software and service providers
  • Liaise with software suppliers for prompt rectification of problems or emergencies

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, health administration, informatics, computer systems design, or computer science, or equivalent experience
  • Five years' experience managing applications and/or systems management in the healthcare industry
  • Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of software solutions, including AI tools
  • Direct, hands-on experience with automated software management tools
  • Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies
  • Five years' experience with hospital information systems and core business applications, including Meditech, Cerner, Epic, AllScripts, PICIS, Kronos, VirtuoHR
  • Working knowledge of various operating systems
  • Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures
  • Excellent understanding of the organization's IM/IT goals and objectives
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and current cybersecurity trends
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer-service orientation
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Ability to conduct research into application issues and products
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
