At Natrona County School, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive health services to students, including assessments, interventions, and referrals. This role will also involve collaborating with parents, teachers, and community agencies to ensure students receive the support they need to succeed academically.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide acute, chronic, and routine nursing care to students, including vision, hearing, and dental screenings.
  • Monitor and evaluate student health, identifying health-related barriers to learning and developing strategies to address them.
  • Collect and document health information, maintaining accurate and up-to-date student health records.
  • Act as a first responder in medical emergencies, providing emergency care and triage as needed.
  • Provide health assessments and evaluations, supporting students' ability to learn and succeed.
  • Maintain student immunization records, ensuring district compliance with Wyoming Immunization Law.
  • Collaborate with school staff, home, and community agencies to provide resource information and support student health needs.
  • Report suspected child abuse to Department of Family Services, ensuring student safety.
  • Administer student medications, following licensed healthcare professional guidelines and NCSD policy.
  • Train and supervise staff to assist with administering student medications.
  • Conduct health-related presentations, educating students and staff on maintaining healthy lifestyles.
  • Develop health objectives for student Individualized Education Plans and Individualized Health Plans.
  • Interpret student medical data, providing understandable information and clear direction.

Requirements:

  • Possess and maintain current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse by the Wyoming State Board of Nursing.
  • A current Permit or Certificate issued by the Wyoming Department of Education is preferred.
  • Must possess a Baccalaureate degree (B.S.) in Nursing from an accredited four-year college or university.
