Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to provide Assistive Devices Program (ADP) services to residents in a Long-Term Care Home in Owen Sound, ON.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting assessments, providing recommendations, and prescribing equipment to meet the needs of residents. They will also serve as a resource and educator to the Home's staff and residents/families regarding equipment recommendations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in evidence-based musculoskeletal and neurological practice, with a focus on functional outcomes. They will possess superior communication and clinical reasoning skills, as well as a caring and compassionate approach to interacting with residents and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments and access funding under the ADP to meet equipment needs
  • Implement, monitor, and modify equipment to achieve resident/family goals
  • Provide in-house staff education sessions on topics such as adaptive equipment and ergonomic setup

Qualifications

  • Registrant in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Certified ADP Authorizer
  • Completion of satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) upon hire
  • Up-to-date on required vaccinations
  • Knowledge/experience in evidence-based musculoskeletal and neurological practice
