Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Shipping Operations Manager to join our team at J.M.S Warehousing Inc. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for coordinating activities, preparing reports, ensuring smooth operation of equipment, arranging maintenance, resolving work problems, recruiting staff, training workers, conducting performance reviews, coordinating work, requisitioning materials, organizing inventory, establishing work schedules and procedures, and planning and overseeing operational logistics of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate activities with other work units or departments to ensure seamless operation of our warehouse and logistics services.
  • Prepare and submit reports to management on a regular basis to keep them informed of our operations.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery by arranging for regular maintenance and repairs.
  • Resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Recruit, hire, and train staff to ensure that our team is equipped to handle the demands of our operations.
  • Conduct performance reviews to ensure that our team members are meeting their goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate, assign, and review work to ensure that it is completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed to support our operations.
  • Organize and maintain inventory to ensure that we have the necessary materials and supplies on hand.
  • Establish work schedules and procedures to ensure that our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee operational logistics of the organization to ensure that our goals and objectives are met.

Work Environment: Our warehouse is a fast-paced environment with a variety of tasks and responsibilities. You will be required to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Supervision: This position reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for supervising 3-4 team members.

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • First Aid Certificate.
