Head Chef Position for a Luxury Hotel

Nahanni Traveller Hotel is seeking a skilled and experienced Head Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.
About the JobThis permanent position offers a competitive salary of $60,000 per year, plus benefits, including health insurance and paid time off. As a Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff training.
Key Responsibilities- Determine the size of food portions and costs, ensuring profitability and efficiency
- Plan menus and estimate food requirements for large groups and events
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies, maintaining high standards of quality and freshness
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, ensuring presentation and flavor are always exceptional
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, promoting a safe and healthy working environment
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, providing guidance and support as needed
- Maintain accurate inventory records, ordering supplies and equipment as required
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar role
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a calm demeanor in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Permanent position with a guaranteed 40 hours per week
