Fibre Optic Cable Splicer Job Description

LAPTOP REPAIRS & NETWORKING SOLUTIONS INC. is seeking a skilled Fibre Optic Cable Splicer to join our team. As a key member of our network infrastructure team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fibre optic cables and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and test fibre optic cable signals and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Read blueprints and technical specifications to determine work requirements and ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Test equipment to locate transmission faults and determine the cause of issues
  • Complete and maintain accurate test and service reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems, including fibre optic cables and associated equipment
  • Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access and ensure seamless connectivity
  • Determine work assignments and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in fibre optic cable installation and maintenance
  • Criminal record check
Working Conditions:
  • 35 hours per week
  • Permanent work term
  • Work language: English
