Fibre Optic Cable Splicer Job Description

LAPTOP REPAIRS & NETWORKING SOLUTIONS INC. is seeking a skilled Fibre Optic Cable Splicer to join our team. As a Fibre Optic Cable Splicer, you will be responsible for inspecting and testing cable signals and associated equipment, reading blueprints to determine work requirements, and completing and maintaining test and service reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment
  • Read blueprints to determine work requirements
  • Test equipment to locate transmission faults
  • Complete and maintain test and service reports
  • Determine nature, cause and location of trouble
  • Determine work assignments
  • Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access
  • Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems
  • Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers and amplifiers
  • Splice, join and connect wires
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the field
  • Permanent employment
  • 35 hours per week
  • English language proficiency
