Fibre Optic Cable Splicer Job Description

LAPTOP REPAIRS & NETWORKING SOLUTIONS INC. is seeking a skilled Fibre Optic Cable Splicer to join our team. As a key member of our network infrastructure team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fibre optic cables and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Read blueprints to determine work requirements and ensure accurate installation
  • Test equipment to locate transmission faults and perform repairs
  • Complete and maintain test and service reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Determine the nature, cause, and location of trouble and develop effective solutions
  • Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access and ensure seamless connectivity
  • Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems to prevent downtime and ensure reliability
  • Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers to restore service
  • Splice, join, and connect wires to ensure secure and efficient data transmission
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in fibre optic cable splicing and telecommunications
  • Criminal record check
Working Conditions:
  • 35 hours per week
  • Permanent work term
  • English language required
