Work Environment

As a Cement Finisher, you will work in a variety of settings, including commercial, industrial, and residential construction sites. You will be exposed to dust, noise, and physical demands, but you will also have the opportunity to work outdoors and enjoy the satisfaction of seeing your work come to life.

Responsibilities
  • Apply a smooth, even finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, to complete tasks
  • Operate power vibrators to compact concrete and ensure a smooth finish
  • Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification
  • Repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures
  • Estimate costs and materials for projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
Requirements
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the trade
  • Ability to work at heights and in physically demanding environments
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
  • Ability to estimate costs and materials for projects
